Thanksgiving Break Pop-Up Show at The Hive

The Hive is excited to host a “Pop Up Art Fair” sale and exhibit, which will open for one day, the Saturday after Thanksgiving at The Hive in downtown Gloucester. The event is being organized by Pauline Bresnahan of Pauline’s Gifts in West Gloucester, Catherine Ryan, and Cape Ann Art Haven staff and students in the Hive's Teen Artist Guild Program.

The celebration will feature work by “Gloucester creative collegiates” as well as recent graduates, ages 18 to 30. The Hive website now features a directory of young local artists. We hope to continue growing this list of creatives following the event.

"This year I am thankful for the Hive's Thanksgiving POP UP Art Fair and such a clear and true celebration of art, youth and this art center gem in the heart of downtown Gloucester," said Ryan, "Thank you Pauline and Cape Ann Art Haven for beautiful ideas and resourcefulness, and Good Morning Gloucester, the Gloucester Daily Times and the Bridge for helping spread the news."

Among the artists already signed up are Kate Bresnahan, James Curcuru and Nicole Dahlmer. Two have ties to the historic Gloucester fishing community and their personal histories influence their artwork. Other artists exhibiting are Jason Burroughs, David Brooks, Lexi Chipperini, Jon Cooney, Alessia Lograsso, Micah O’Connor, Leon Doucette, Avery McNiff, Melissa Dube, Tyler Devlin, David Fanning, Jennifer Ziller and Betsey Janus.
