The Hive Center offers classes in the arts for adults of all levels and skill sets. Whether it's your first time dabbling in the arts or if you've made the arts your profession, there's a place for you at The Hive.

Ceramic Studio with Ruth Worrall (8 week session Jan. 10th - Feb. 28th)

Instructor, Ruth Worrall, welcomes beginners as well as those with previous experience. Ruth invites students to discover the pliability, durability, malleability, and delicacy that is the magic of clay.  Students will receive instruction in clay techniques while finding their own artistic voice. Ruth works in her home studio in Gloucester while also exhibiting and selling her work throughout the North Shore of Massachusetts

Watercolor Studio

Learn the basics of watercolor painting this winter. Over the course of six weeks, students will learn the basics of atmospheric perspective, composition, watercolor techniques, and color theory.

Painting Studio

All levels are welcome in this open studio painting class. Students will work at their own pace and will determine their own subject matter while learning to paint from observation. Classic elements of art such as line, shape, form, space, composition, value, and color will be used to create each artwork. Instruction will be provided on individuals’ projects throughout the six week session.
